OUR STORY
How SRO Prints Began
In 2009, Fat Wreck Chords accountant, Dave Pauli and resident printer, Brandon Swinehart opened SRO Prints in a small one room basement studio in the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco. The abbreviation “SRO” can mean “Single Room Occupancy” or “Standing Room Only” and when it began, that’s all they had.
The two started out as flat stock printers- printing posters for bands like Built to Spill, Aim Low Kid, We Were Promised Jet Packs and for The San Francisco Noise Pop Music Festival in 2010.
In the spring of 2010, Brandon began pursuing the love of his life, Sara Swinehart, and once they had tied the knot, they decided SRO was going to be a part of their future together as well. In 2013, Brandon and Sara re-established SRO Prints in Brandon’s hometown, Cincinnati, OH and started their family.
With Brandon’s skillset as a master printer and Sara’s organizational prowess they have spent over a decade building the SRO brand as we know it today: a quality screenprinting company in the heart of Evendale, OH with a commitment to social involvement.
At SRO Prints, we work hard to ensure that our clients are satisfied with high quality products that reflect the standard your brand can provide for its clients as well.
In 2016, SRO Prints was selected as finalists in the Bad Girl Ventures “Launch” class and in Artworks’ “Big Pitch” contest. SRO has printed for brands like Alien Workshop, and Habitat Skateboards, organizations like AGAR, the Music Resource Center, and Curiosity; and for bands like TV On the Radio, Buffalo Wabs and the Price HIll Hustle, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Brandon and Sara’s strong desire to give back to an under-served population in Cincinnati has made SRO Prints what it is today: a hub for social commitment, high-end printing, and excellent customer service.
WE ARE SRO PRINTS
SRO IS A ONE STOP SHOP BRANDING SOLUTION FOR ALL OF YOUR CUSTOM PRINTED APPAREL AND PROMOTIONAL NEEDS. WE ARE KNOWN FOR OUR LASTING BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, STELLAR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HIGH-QUALITY PRINTING SERVICES.
COO and co-founder, Brandon Swinehart is 20 years in recovery. His unique perspective has helped to orient SRO’s goals. As a company, we prioritize employing people in recovery and those whose criminal records may keep them from growing into the best versions of themselves that they can. SRO is committed to social engagement- we believe in taking on projects that help our communities, and that give people the opportunity to talk and engage with one another from common ground.
When an addict gets clean, their life becomes a daunting valley of loose ends- often at the center of those concerns is a criminal record. Without an opportunity to work hard and do better, this can lead someone who is just trying to do the right thing down the exact same path they began on with very little hope in sight.
SRO Prints wants to make a difference in the lives of reformed prisoners by offering not just a job, but the opportunity to build a career.
